How do you improve the colour black laser printed on a double-matt polyester skin?
If black does not seem covering enough, it has to be sprayed with the Density Toner product and the coverage will fairly improve.
What is the use of double-matt polyester?
The double-matt polyester is used to obtain skins to engrave the screen printing frames and it is printed by using a standard laser printer.
Which ink do you use to print on transfers?
Transfer printing can be done with various types of ink. If you own a drying rack the plastisol will do perfectly. If you do not have a drying rack you can use the Nyloflex line (solven based inks) or the Modatex line (water based inks). They both dry at room temperature. In order to obtain the last layer (thermoadhesive) you can opt for various methods, according to the chosen line of ink.
How do you print the drawings on the transfers?
For the print on transfer, the stencils have to be engraved on the frame in a specular way, in order to be able to print them like for the plastic film transfer. The sequence of the colours is in reverse order compared to the norm: first the final colours are printed, like black, and the cross-hatch is the last one. On the last colour, when still fresh, one has to spread the thermoadhesive powder glue in a broadcast manner, and then leave it to dry. For the transfer, the t-shirt has to be pressed; the transparency with the printed image is laid on the frame, so that the powder glue is in contact with the fabric. Then one presses for about 10-12 seconds at 150 deg C. The silicone paper is lifted once cold, and the pattern remains glued to the fabric.
